How to upload and download a spreadsheet of your products.

Firstly I advise to add at least a few products to the store via the store admin area so you have an example of the products.

Next you can enter the easypopulate page.

To do this -
1. Log into admin
2. Click on catalog
3. In the categoires sub menu on the left click on the 'easy populate link.

On this page you are able to upload and download product spreadsheets.

If you have already got some products in your store and wish to download a sheet to your local pc follow these instructions:-

A. Depending on your easypopulate version either use the
>> 'Download Complete tab-delimited .txt file to edit'
or the
>> 'Download Complete .csv file to edit'
link.
Both will download a spreadsheet of your products to your pc.

B. Now on your pc, locate the file. It may look like a text file and so to open it right clikc your mouse an choose 'open with' and then choose 'Excel'. The file will now open up with Excel.

C. From within Excel you can see the format of the file and add extra lines of products. i would advise to have up to 1000 per sheet.

D Once you have added extra products you need to save the file. When saving the file Excel may open an alert box saying to change file format. Do not do so.

Your are nopw ready to upload the sheet your just edited to your store. Enter Easypopulate within store adfmin again and:-

A. Click browse depending on the Easypopulate version you are using next to
'Upload and Import EP File'
Or
'Upload EP File'.

B. Locate the file on your pc and click open.

C. Click the 'insert into db' button.

This may take a few minutes to upload. Whilst uploading, it will list the products it is uploading.

You are done.

If you get errors, make sure each row has the 'product model', the 'product name', and 'product deswcription' filled with something.

It is also very important the each product has a unique 'product model' as easypopulate uses this when uploading products.
